First gameplay details of MW3.
Activision have dropped the first gameplay trailer for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, and it’s a good one.
First thing to notice are the locations you will travel to during the game. They include, but may not be limited to America, England, France, and Germany.
Modern Warfare 2 brought the war to our doorsteps, and MW3 is taking it to the next level with subway train chases in London, the collapse of skyscrapers in Berlin, to full-out air strikes in Manhattan. The entire world is in chaos, creating a setting much like the recently released Homefront.
Only for a brief second but we can see it looks like blind-fire is a new feature, which could mean a new cover system. That alone is very interesting as some new mechanics are needed to spice things up in the Call of Duty universe. It could also just be a cinematic and not actually something allowed during in-game. We’ll be waiting for more on this one. We also see what looks to be an accurate rumor prior to the trailer that the environments are going to be much more destructible as whole buildings are coming down, walls crumbling with every bullet, and pretty much every man-made structure is being torn apart. This would close the gap on what Battlefield has been doing for quite a while now, but we’ll see how destructive they really are before getting too far ahead of ourselves.
We don’t learn anything about what modes are going to be included, or if they realize they need to bring back the co-op campaign but we do know for sure things are going to get very intense, very soon.
The battles are bigger, the devastation is of epic proportions and this should be the craziest Call of Duty yet on many levels.
Let’s hope the next trailer focuses on how they have fixed the, broken since World At War, online connectivity.
The release date of Nov 8th, 2011 was also confirmed at the end of the trailer.
