Skyrim Gameplay Trailer

It may not be new, but just in case you missed it.

We know, we know, this isn’t a new video! But it’s pretty darn good and just in case you haven’t already seen it, we figured we’d let you know what you were missing.

Bethesda have put out some of the best RPG’s in the last 10 year, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Fallout New Vegas.

They just make good games, some flaws, but overall great packages. Their next big RPG is The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which comes out this fall and they released the first in-game footage about 2 months back or so.

Skyrim is set 200 years after the events of Oblivion (haven’t played that? Check out why it’s a classic around here), after the land of Skyrim has been forced into a civil war after the death of the their king. They also have to deal with Alduin, a god who is now taken form of a Dragon. Basically, things aren’t good in Skyrim. You take control of a hero set to defeat Alduin and save the people of Skyrim.

Skyrim, like past Elder Scrolls games, is set in an open world where you are free to roam as you please. There are 5 major cities, massive mountains and miles of wilderness to explore. Like any good RPG, you will earn XP and level up and learn skills, perks and so forth.

Skyrim will use the latest version of Bethesdas Creation engine and definitely looks to have really sharp graphics. The video showcases some great mountain top castles, and really nice water and fire work done here. Graphics weren’t the strong suit in the Fallout series so it’s nice to see them improving in that area.

And last but not least, the Dragons. Yes you will battle against some ferocious beast in this game, including Dragons and what looks like an undead Sasquatch.

Alright enough talking, go watch it below.
