You can run, but you can’t hide.
The first of three new DLC expansion packs coming to Battlefield 3 this year is Close Quarters, which is set to release in June.
Close Quarters takes Battlefield 3 in a different direction with smaller, tightly packed, indoor maps that aim to create instant and chaotic action that isn’t normally seen on the traditional, larger maps BF3 fans are used to. The first map they revealed is Ziba Tower, which is set in a high-rise apartment building, and as you can imagine is filled with narrow hallways, tight corners and plenty of action. Another added feature to the first expansion pack is HD Destruction. The Battlefield series has always featured highly destructible maps, but they are taking it to the next level in Close Quarters with anything and everything being torn apart by bullets and grenades.
Some may complain that these maps are more catered for a Call of Duty game, but not everyone loves massive outdoor maps, so this is obviously suited for a specific play style. Fear not though, as the next expansion pack is called Armored Kill and features much larger outdoor maps for vehicle warfare. So you’ll get your turn as well.
Aside from an unconfirmed number of new maps, each expansion pack will include new weapons, achievements/trophies, dog tags and new assignments as well.
