Silent Hill Downpour Puzzle Guide Part Three

Posted by Scott Grant | 16 Mar 2012 |

Movie theaters, Monasteries and more!

Welcome to part three of our Silent Hill Downpour Puzzle guide series, if you’ve missed the previous entries they can be found here; Part One, Part Two or from the Guides tab above. Now, on with the show!

Theater Projection Room Door Code Puzzle:

First you must collect the three film reels that are scattered around the theater in Chastain Heights. If your puzzle difficulty is on normal or hard you’ll have to retrieve the replacement bulb for the projector from the Hardware store. It can be found by exiting the theatre and going to the left. Go through the alley and hug the left wall as it loops around and you’ll come upon a door, go in, grab the bulb and head back to the theater.

Silent Hill Downpour Theatre Door Code Puzzle

The door code can be obtained by placing each of the three film canisters in the projector, in turn, and going down to the screen and walking into the movie. Each file represents a room and there will be a number somewhere in the room. Piece all three together for the code: 9241. To complete the quest, place the spliced film canister in the projector and head inside the screen. Grab the crank from the room on the left once you’re inside, use it on the jack-in-a-box to get the key and open the chest upstairs. Leave the movie to complete the quest.

Monastery Theater Puzzle:

It’s time for Pendleton to play stage director when you find the small Theater inside the Monastery. Depending on the puzzle difficulty you’re playing on, you’ll have a different number of clues available but here is the order you’ll have to do everything in to get it right. Also, the handle for winch #2 and the record for the gramophone can be found in the room to the right of the balcony:

Turn off the house lights by flipping the switch near the ladder.
To play the opening music, turn the gramophone’s crank.
Aim the beam at the center of the stage by activating the spotlight.
Drop the first set in the position by activating the winch left of the spotlight.
Drop the second set in the position by activating the winch right of the spotlight.
To produce a rain effect, spin the wooden cylinder.
To produce a thunder effect, strike the hanging sheet metal.

Picture Box Puzzle:

You’ll eventually figure this one out but the goal is to create a picture of a young girl holding a doll, there is a boat in the top right corner, for reference. Have a look at the video below, it even fooled me a few times.
