Next Skyrim Update Will Add Kinect Voice Support

Posted by Peter Carpenter | 12 Apr 2012 |

Now you can shout for real.

Bethesda announced today that the next title update for Skyrim will add Kinect Voice Command support, with over 200 commands available.

The voice commands include using Dragon shouts, hotkey equipping, trading with NPC’s, navigating the menus and inventory (you can even tell it to sort by name, type or weight) and even using it to quick save or quick load. There are a whole list of other commands that they haven’t revealed yet, but overall it sounds like it could be really cool. The Kinect Voice Command support will be included in a free title update, which they state is on track to be released later this month. In the same post on their BethBlog, they also mention that they are going to be releasing new info on some of the DLC they have in store for Skyrim very soon, so stay tuned for that.

We haven’t had a chance to test it out yet, but the video below gives you a better look at how voice commands will work in Skyrim.
