Find out how you will die.

If you’re like me, you’ve been trying to get another look at the Dark Souls 2 trailer since the moment it ran during the Spike TV VGA’s on Friday. Well, the wait is over.

Dark Souls 2 Announcement

Again, no gameplay is shown in this trailer but you do get a feel for some of the things you’ll see during the game. Much like the first Dark Souls, you’ll be fighting some dragons, fighting some creepy guys in masks and helping out mysterious ladies.

In a press release today, Namco Bandai said that, “Players will also discover a revamped server based multiplayer experience that will put a distinct Dark Souls II twist on the concept of playing and sharing with others. For those with enough tenacity and sheer force of will, great rewards await.”

That’s a fairly vague statement, but I’m hoping it’s pointing toward a multiplayer mode where I can actually invite my friends into the game instead of relying on chance and summon signs.

Namco Bandai went on to to say, “Dark Souls II will feature a new hero, a new storyline, and an unfamiliar world for players to survive in, while delivering the uncompromising challenge and ultimate sense of empowerment that players hunger for. Epic battles with gruesome enemies and blood-thirsty bosses await adventurers as they traverse and conquer a devastated world filled with death and despair.” So it seems that fans of the series will be getting more of what they love.
