One life to live.
Last week Warner Bros. revealed that Batman Arkham Origins would have a Season Pass and then today they revealed a new permadeath mode called ‘I Am The Night’.
The Season Pass will include a ton of character skins, a new Initiation mode that allows you to play challenge maps as Bruce Wayne before he was Batman, and a brand new single player expansion campaign. It would cost over $30 to buy all of the DLC separately, but the Season Pass will only cost $19.99. I’m not really interested in this Season Pass, since a large chunk of it is just skins, but it is a pretty good deal if you’re going to buy all of it anyway. If the new story DLC is over $10, then the Season Pass would become more attractive, but my guess is that it will be $10, just like the Harley Quinn DLC for Arkham City. With Origins set to release on Oct 25th, we’ll find out soon enough.
The new permadeath mode, I Am The Night, will be included with the main game and it forces you to play through the single player campaign with only one life. I don’t remember dying that much in the previous Batman Arkham games, but not being able to die even once should be a nice challenge.
