The Spike VGX, formerly known as the VGA’s, is usually filled with videos and premières from the world’s biggest studios but this year a big game from a small studio is the one that had everyone talking. Meet No Man’s Sky.
Saying that No Man’s Sky is a wild departure from the Joe Danger series might be an understatement, but the four man team at Hello Games has decided it’s time for something completely different. The video they debuted at the Spike VGX showed off a first person action game that was not only open world, but open universe.
No Man’s Sky will will be filled with procedurally generated planets in a procedurally generated universe that will allow players to explore the far reaches of space. “Every planet procedural. Every planet unique. Every planet unexplored.” Is how they describe it. While the team at Hello Games were vague about the specifics, there will be some sort of way to interact with other players even if it doesn’t end up being any sort of true multiplayer.
